Housing benefit etc help please

Hi,
First of all i've decided to walk out of my family home, due to circumstances, no they can't be resolved. Please do not ask for the full story as it is private, and trust me there is no going back.
So my income is £161 a week
My Expenditure is roughly £100 a week
Will income and expenditure and debt be taken into account when applying for housing benefits?
Any advice appreciated
Turn £100.00 into £1000.00
Decided to start off with things in house, as i have no money!
Currently £38.70/£1000 :T

Income will be taken into consideration but debt won't.

How old are you, are you working and do you have somewhere to live?

    A few questions.

I assume you mean present(s) when you mean family home and not your partner etc?

Given you don't live anywhere, what is the expenditure of £100?

If its debts, it won't be taken into account.

The £161 a week, what is this? Wages? How many hours?

before you can apply for HB or LHA you will need to have somewhere to live and a tenancy agreement.

Have a look on here https://lha-direct.voa.gov.uk/Secure/Default.aspx
to see how much you can get for the area you live in.

I think as you are under 25 you will only be able to claim the shared room rate.

once you have the LHA rate you can put the numbers into entitledto.co.uk.
based on your income, if the LHA is £70 per week you would get less than £2 a week in housing benefits

just looking at the LHA calculator - the majority of places appear to be lower than that so you may not get any help
  • Well the expenditure was calculated if i was somewhere i currently pay £35 a week petrol, £20 food, £10 parking, £35 bills etc

It is very confusing! Best thing to do is find somewhere to live first. Would you be able to get enough money together for a deposit and some rent in advance?(council may be able to help with deposit)

You need to look at the calculators - with the figures you gave you may get no benefit at all or maybe just a couple of pounds a week depending on your LHA rate..
