A couple of my pumpkin seedlings are no longer able to stand upright. They are about 6 inches in height and have gone all droopy, is this normal? And if so, should I give them some support?

what sort of pumpkins are there? If they are droopy, then yes, provide some support.
It's a bit early for pumpkins unless you have a heated greenhouse to shelter them.0 -

They're Jack O'Lanterns, I've only planted 3 of them and they're inside, I got taken in by the good weather we had a couple of weeks ago!0 -
It is a bit too early for pumpkins/courgettes etc. unless you have a greenhouse to keep them in ....may be better to write this batch off and plant some more seeds in a week or two -0

Tibbiesmum,,i did the same lol!!
I have 3 floppy seedlings but have supported them with a long cane after repotting them. I am confident i can look after them until they can go out in greenhouse,,or i will just grow them on and on and on inside and see if we ever have a summer this yr!!
If not hey ho another lesson learned for next yrs planting.
Good luck :-)Life happens when you are busy making other plans

be careful not to over water as this can cause young seedlings to become droopy and stems willl rot off
hth good luck0 -
Pumpkins, marrows and cucumbers need sunshine lots of it , You start them at the end of April under cover . Try to keep the compost damp not soaking wet , If you put a watering can in the greenhouse it will absorb the heat, Use the water to put on your seeds, If you do not have cover wait until the end of May - Dig a hole put in mushroom compost put the soil back , now cover with ground clear plastic, This will warm the ground - You should be able to sow the seed by cutting a hole- plus no weeding - Best of luck0
