I'm always careful where I give personal information out to companies. I always look, and read the privacy policy, and don't sign up for anything if they don't don't have an opt out from future marketing.

I know that peoples details, and interests are worth money to companies, especially if the person has not ticked the opt out box for future marketing (they can sell your details to other companies). How much is this information worth? I think it would be a good article to give people an idea of how much their information is worth to companies when filling out forms/surveys. I'm sure that a lot of people aren't aware that their personal info is worth a lot of money to companies.

Searching on the net. I can find sites addressing this, but all in the US. Here is an example (scroll down to see the list). I haven't come accross anything similar for the UK.

Being a journalist, I thought that maybe Martin would know how to source this kind of info.
