Just to get the sarcasm out of the way, I have done a quick forum search using "natwest" as my key word, and not found the answer to my query, so is it okay if I ask it now?

I booked and collected a rail ticket using my old Maestro card a few weeks ago, but this has now been replaced by a new Visa card, which I started using last week.

I am trying to get a refund for the rail ticket as it was for travel on one of the strike days, and it has now been confirmed that this route is not running during the strike period.

If I am successful in getting a refund agreed, should I present my old Maestro card or the Visa card, as presumably they will have to credit back in the same way that I paid? I haven't attempted to use the Maestro card since starting with the Visa one, so don't know if it has been cancelled by NatWest.

If they did try to put a credit on a cancelled card, would it go through anyway? Or could they put a credit onto a Visa card for something that was bought on a Maestro one?
