Thats it...I have cancelled Sky but now need to get myself on to Freesat.
I have the equipment (from sky
) but want the equivalent of sky + so want a recorder.
Can anyone advise me please whether Humax is the safest option to futureproof myself? I see that the Sagem is on offer at £199 whereas the Humax is £235 ...but I want to be happy with my purchase and hang onto it (so cancelling my sky will have been worth it).
Your comments would be very much appreciated.

I have the Humax and it is great. Quick look shows the Humax has 80GB more which I think is worth the money. You can fill the Hard disk very quickly.0

Haven't seen many reviews of the Sagem, but the Humax has many happy usres.Dave. :wave:0

love the humax. Very occasional glitches but it works well and is easy to use. You need two feeds from the dish to use it to its full potential.0

The Humax is a known good performer. The Sagem is an unknown.

Do you have/are you likely to buy a PS3?
If so think about Play TV. It means you can use your PS3 to watch Freeview and also as an HD recorder.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

There's a review of the Sagem on http://www.theregister.co.uk somewhere, I think I remember that it said there were a few quirks in it. I've got the Humax Foxsat HDR an would highly recommend it.
And of course PlayTV, as well as being Freeview, isn't HD (in the UK) either.0 -
Lots info in http://www.avforums.com/forums/digital-tv-receivers-services/
