dryer not working

Hi All
Thought i'd ask here first, seeing as you are all very helpfull and give good advice.
Dryer(white knight condenser) stopped working. Hubby said it was the little connection at the back, that the dryer bottle goes into. The dryer bottle has a little bit that protrudes from the back and seemingly this wasnt catching. Anyway he put a extra bit of sellotape round it(the protruding bit) so it would catch and it usually worked , altho sometimes you had to fidget with the sellotape and then push the bottle back in.
Now it just refuses to work and the little "i'm full" light stays on.
Dont know if it is relevant but just before it stopped working the water that went into the bottle was pretty hot? Maybe its just me getting paronoid and it was always this hot.
hopefully ive explained it properly
Anyone got ideas

could be a loose connection, or maybe a thermal cutout switch.
is there a reset switch round the back of the machine?Get some gorm.0 -
Are you getting any water gathering in the dryer bottle cavity, rather than going into the bottle? Might be that the hole is blocked up so the water has no-where to go.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
hi
Thanks jfor the replys
Dont think it is the cut out switch as we can get the water full light to go out occassionally for a split second or so. but will check if there is one later tonight
Water was collecting in the bottle as usual when it was working.0 -
Empty the water container? Sellotape is not a fix, do something better. You can see the problem just tackle it from a different direction.0
