Natwest unauthorised overdraft charges.

Options
I think I am going to incur a charge as a paypal DD has come out before I was expecting leaving me overdrawn. Can someone please clarify if I will be charged the maintenance fee plus the paid referral fee, or just one or the other.
Also I am not clear what this means:

Paid referral fee amount:
£15 for each day on which a Paid Referral occurs (subject to a maximum of £90 in any charging period)

Does that mean £15 per day you are overdrawn until you get the account back into credit, or £15 per separate occasion where a payment is made & honoured by the bank without you having the available funds? (eg DD payment taken Monday no funds but honoured by bank - charged £15, a different payment Thursday & honoured - charged another £15?)

I am confusing myself now!!!

Thanks:beer:

the paid referral is charged on every transaction they decide to honour.

you said you had 2 payments come out which overdrew you (or you were already overdrawn), you will pay £30 assuming that you never arranged an overdraft with them.

You will also incur an overdraft interest charge of 19.24% AER

Finally, you will be charged a £20 maintenance charge for the unarranged overdraft which is levied once per month, not per transaction.

I heartily suggest you arrange a modest overdraft with NatWest since you would then only be charged interest and nothing else.

    Thanks -
Only the one payment has been taken - was just using two as an example. I get it now, was just worried it was £15 everyday!

Yes, unfortunately - I had to process a paypal refund - it stated on paypal that it would be pending until 7th April, but it has gone through early leaving me overdrawn until tomorrow. I am going to change my paypal funding back to debit card, as it comes straight out of the account that way, not whenever it feels like. I hadn't been overdrawn or charged for anything for about 2 yrs prior to this on the step account:(

I dont trust paypal direct debits there evil they just always come out on random dates.

Just so you know Bev if you pay money into your account before 14.30 on the day the direct debit leaves your account you wont get charged.

In fact I have just checked my paypal account & the payment is still showing as 'pending'

Am I misunderstanding what the pending refund date means? I have never processed one before:mad:

Sorry cannot get a decent sized image of the screenshot of my paypal acct on here for some reason, it is tiny!
