smilemore - is it worth it?

Hi all
I have a smile personal account and my hubby and I have a smilemore joint account. We regularly go overdrawn, up to around £1000 pcm and changed to the smilemore account becuase although there was a charge (£6 pcm when we upgraded) we got worldwide travel insurance, roadside Green Flag Assistance and a cheaper overdraft.
However the cost has gone up to £7.50 and is about to go up to £10 pcm which seems crazy. The Green Flag thing is now full service, allegedly at a value of £80+ but I'm seriously considering reverting to a normal account as £120 of charges per year seems excessive.
Any advice or thoughts on this? All gladly recieved.

I too have a Smilemore account and for me even the increase in monthly charge to £10 still covers the benefits I receive. I checked with Green Flag and the at home service would cost me £61 and using the insurance checker the equivalent travel insurance would be £63, so that covers the costs. I've claimed on the insurance a couple of times and used the Green Flag both without problem. I then also have the overdraft facility which I don't use but which is there for me in an emergency.
I think you have to work out if you get value for what you pay and if so that's OK. If you don't need the Green Flag and don't need the Travel insurance then you might be better off with a no fee account somewhere else that has competitive overdraft charges which obviously is an important issue for you.Age & Treachery Will Always Overcome Youth & Enthusiasm !!
