hammer fixings or frame fixings

HI
I want to bolt a 4x2 post to a wall for a garden gate and after some advice about fixings please.
Hammer fixings or frame fixings, not used either before. I was wandering which would give me a tighter stronger fix, looking at using 10mm x 135mm fixings.
Thanks.

Personally I would go for frame fixing everytime as they are adjustable,if you need to pack the post off a wall to upright it.Hammer fixings are ok but once youve hammered them home you can't adjust anything. They should both give a decent fixing but it will only be as good as the brickwork/blockwork your fixing too.0

Thanks, I think I will go for the frame fixings, sounds more controllable.0
