I've placed my order and guess what, an hour later get the following email:
We have received your order for a new Ford Ka for £368.63. As I am sure you can appreciate, this is an error on our website and we shall not be accepting your order.
We confirm that we have not taken any money from your credit card.
I was still hoping, getting a bit excited... boehoehoe0 -

I also got the thanks but sorry NO email from Richard... long shot I know but I replied with;
Dear Richard Sanders,
You are clearly advertising the vehicle for the quoted price of £368.63 as per my order confirmation and as such I expect you to honour the order. By not honouring the order for the price you quote and advertise, you are clearly in breach of trading standards which state that under the Sale of Goods Act an item must be sold at the advertised price.
I look forward to receiving my new car.
Kind regards
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Should be funny to see if I get a reply to this one!! ....sadly, don't think I'll get the car still though but at least it amused me!!
If you don't want to know my opinion, don't ask for it!0 -

Even at £368 I wouldn't be tempted by buy a Fraud Ka.
We might be money savers but come one we must draw the line somewhere and have 'some' standards!

Actually, I think you'll find that the Sale of Goods Act doesn't say this. Goods on display at a particular price are not regarded as an offer for you to accept, they are regarded as an "invitation to treat", ie, you offer to buy them at that price and they will then decide whether they wish to accept your offer.
There is a stated case on this matter from many years ago, the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain v Boots Cash Chemist. You have as much chance of success here as I have of winning the lottery jackpot the next 4 weeks in a row.0 -
Well the reply is pretty much what I expected... they reserve the right to do whatever they please when it comes to prices! ....and by the way, I am an IT Manager and I thought it only polite to explain to Richard exactly how cache memory works because if I've never visited the page before and I have my IE settings so that the cache is emptied when I close AND all pages are refreshed when I next visit them... how can this price be held in my cache?? How put it there??? ...come on own up!!!

Dear Hazel,
I attach our terms and conditions. I refer you to Clause 2. You will note that in refusing your order we are acting in accordance with the terms.
At the time you ordered the car, the car had actually been removed from our web page. Your computer simply memorised the page from the previous time you had downloaded it. It was in your cache. So in fact we were not showing a deal for £368.63 at the time you ordered it.

In reply to C_Smith..... LIGHTEN UP!!!!
Even a 3 yr old would know that I wouldn't be able to get the car that that price... as I said before... it amused me, nothing else.. jeeze :rolleyes:If you don't want to know my opinion, don't ask for it!0 -

I will correct you on that.
a retailer doesn't have to honour the advertised price if it is a msitake they can refuse to saell the item to you at that price/
I know this is correct as i have just come back from a 2 day training course on sales of goods act and consumer rights with the company i work for
