Windows 7 rubbish internet

Hi,

I have recently got a new laptop with Windows 7. Media streaming doesn't work properly, eg I might get 3 seconds on youtube or 4od then it stops and never continues. This is the same on IE8 and firefox. Also sometimes webpages half load and then stop, although if i refresh it usually works ok.

Does anybody know what the problem might be?

I don't reckon its windows 7 especially if its also happening in firefox...I have had no problems with windows 7 at all...but BT now thats defo a thorn in my side.

Could be that you are having your internet "throttled" by your service provider
If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right

No I don't think it's that, it worked fine on my old laptop and on my old ISP which was rubbish and much slower than my new one.

3.4 is pretty low, what is giving the lowest rating?

this machine is pretty low spec and my GFX give a rating of 4.3 with everything else 5.3 to 5.9
i have half the ram of you,and a similar speed CPU
have you checked for updated GFX drivers? i had an issue on this PC where the default GFX driver in W7 gave very low performance
