I've varnished my new skirting boards, but the i don't like the colour that it has dried to. Its to honey antique pine for me. Any ideas how i can take the orange honeyness out of the colour. Would it be best to use a darker varnish over the existing one? Thanks

You can try, but the result will be unpredictable. Might have been an idea to test a small area first to make sure you liked it.No free lunch, and no free laptop

all stains can have unpredictable effects on any wood. there are just too many variables.
best you can really do is to keep applying more coats or change to a darker color altogether.
a test piece of wood, is always a good idea if the final shade is that important to you.Get some gorm.0 -
Have you used a stain and not sealed it? or a varnish combined stain and seal?
If it is a stain, you stand a chance of lightening it by applying a solvent, but if it is varnished, you will have to varnish it with a darker varnish.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
