I use Bold for my 'dear' powder, just because I like it, and it's what I always used to use pre LBM. I guess it depends on whether you regularly get a lot of 'biological stains' that need shifting, if you do then you probably need both powders to be 'Bio' for the best stain removal effect.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

ok, my turn for the stupid question...whats the difference between bio and non bio? is it to do with the way the powder is made, or the type of soiling you want it to remove? is one better than the other?know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0

Bio washing powder has enzymes in that some people react to on their skin, like a sort of weak biotex.
I read on a website that bicarbonate of soda works well as a fabric conditioner.0 -
Bio powder 'contains powerful enzymes that digest dirt and stains' - you might remember hearing this on the old Ariel adverts! They are great for stain removal, particularly *ahem* body fluids, food residues, grass stains (if you should be so lucky:o) etc. etc.
As patchwork cat says though, people with sensitive skins can have a nasty reaction to Bio powder, particularly if too much detergent is used in the wash or if it isn't rinsed out properly.
BTW: I didn't think either of those questions was stoopidOfficial DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0 -
I dothe mix as well, at the moments its ASDA best powder, mixed with smart price and soda.
I did use vinegar and you don't get a smell. But since I havn't used fabric softener for years (since I alwasy thought it was a waste of money), I've now stopped using vinegar too.0 -
I usually buy expensive powder as my son is incontinent never new of the soda idea
I could make up the cheaper mix for my clothes though0
