How does best match work? i'm getting peed off with it!

I thought good dsr's meant higher up the best match, one of my items is on the second page and there are loads above me with 4.6 4.7 etc
all mine are 4.9 and 4.8 and i'm cheaper what is it with best match that i can't seem to figure out? :mad:

There are numerous criteria. Top Rated Seller Status. Auction rather than BIN. Freepost rather than paid. Multiple item listing - ie different colours/sizes etc in one BIN listing. Number of items sold relative to number of times your page has been viewed - ie if you have sold 10 items but 100 have looked at it, it will rate lower than someone who has sold 3 when only 8 people have looked at it. Those are just a few!

I never understand it either.

Whenever I am searching for something specific I always change it from Best Match to Ending Soonest or Cheapest first. Not sure why Ebay set it to Best Match surely everyone wants to find the cheapest.

I never look at Best Match either. Same as too_much_debt, I prefer to search by Ending Soonest or Lowest Price + P&P. I don't understand Best Match.

well i feel a bit better now knowing there isn't much i can do anyway, just hope that people go for cheapest first or something. thanks
