Credit Report "Incorrect Information"

Hi There,
Apologies if this doesn't appear in the correct part of the forum, this seemed the closest ... so here goes.
Everything was fine and dandy with myself, according to my checkmyfile credit reports, 2 of the 3 agencies (Equifax & Call Credit) had me in the high 900's, and Experian at 568 ... (I still don't know if they know how to open letters, as I have sent them confirmation of my electoral registration) - but anyway, I am digressing.
The day after payday in October, I went to Tesco's to do some shopping on Saturday 24th October - money in my account, direct debits/standing orders continued to go out, no problem.
Fast forward 7 weeks later, and looking at my bank statement, there is a transaction from Tesco, Labelled 24th October, out of my account 15th December. You may think, ok, a delay. I didn't see this as a big problem (I checked to see if they didn't try to take the money out twice, and my account, was, you guessed it, still in credit, still had money in it).
I checked my credit report (i tend to do this end of the month, december (a few days after pay day) and lo and behold, I go to the bank section of my credit accounts in my Equifax credit report, and lo and behold, an orange 2 appears in it's place, where a green ok signal normally would reside.
Here is some of my correspondance so far (And any advice/tips greatly appreciated) - this is with checkmyfile.com

Message Correction, I meant Experian don`t think I exist, NOT Equifax.
Apologies,
Chris

Message Hi Alex,
Thank you for your reply, I have spoken to Alliance & Leicester, and they are adamant there was no reason for the 2 month arrear to have happened. There were no notes on my account to say otherwise either. They also according to them, only pass information on to Experian (And not equifax) - and last I checked, Equifax don`t think I exist, despite actually writing to them and showing them proof I am on the Electoral role ...
So, what do you suggest I go from here?
a) Would I request Alliance and Leicester to republish their information to the credit agency? (even though Experian doesn`t think I exist, and Equifax isn`t on their apprved list, EVEN though it`s the only of the 3 credit agencies that actually knows I have a bank account).
b) Contact Equifax directly (or is that something you can do on my behalf?) and ask them to resubmit their request to Alliance & Leicester (if that is even possible)?
If you have any better ideas, I am all ears.
Thanks,
Chris

Message Hi Chris
Thanks for your message.
In the first instance you will need to go to the lender who hold the account and dispute it with them. if they acknowledge this is an error they will then contact the agencies on your behalf and arrange for this to be updated.

Alex

Message Good Morning,
I wonder if you can help me resolve this. On my equifax report, I noticed in my Bank Account area, that in December, there is a 2 next to it, indicating 2 months in arrears/late payment for a payment/transaction.
What is confusing is that this payment was for a Tesco Shop, done October 24th (there was money in my account), and the payment didn`t come out of my account till December 15th (there was still money in my account).
I need to know how to get this information corrected, as it has dropped my credit rating points by over 120.
Please Advise,
Thanks
Chris P
Now, I know I was lazy and only now pursuing it. But still, better late than never ...
Any and all advice appreciated. (awaiting reply from checkmyfile.com)
Cheers

Hi. Alliance & Leicester will have to authorise the entry be changed. They have a specific address to write to that will do this for you. If you contact
Credit Reference Liasion Officer
Alliance & Leicester
Bridle Road
Bootle
GIR OAA
Try and send them a copy of the problem entry on your report as it will spped things up. More work for you, but it will be worth it.
Hope that helps0 -
In the meantime you can explain the situation to Equifax and ask them to put a notice of correction against that entry stating that is in dispute.
