@Paul who was the computer/mathematics/codebreaker wizard who invented a test for intelligent computer response ?
Judi has recently aquired a new PC and I occasionally wonder myself if it has taken over her responses whilst tricking judi into thinking she wrote something that contributed to an argument.
Lets all get along in a constructive manner.

Checkout my post especially reply 5.here
Sorry if you feel i am not being constructive, but i really would like to get to grips with what Danny is saying.0 -

It was Alan Turing and it is called the 'Turing Test'. Don't know much about it but I do know one of the people (MW) that worked with him to help crack the Enigma Code - he still features on TV occasionally although MW is in now in his nineties.0 -
I am looking forward to Danny's first book on how to save money.0

Completed on my buy to let property 4 weeks ago, ready now to remorge to fund project number 2. Have been instructed by the Broker, (to whom we paid £500) that the mortgage company will only offer a further advance when they have received 6 mortgage payments. Yesterday, I offered to pay 4 months mortage payments up front (we've already paid two) but they weren't having any of it. I have asked to speak to someone higher up as this seems crazy!
Annoying thing is, there are early redemption fees of 4% in the 1st year. If I do as my broker suggests and re morge with another lender, I will end up paying nearly £3,000 to my current lender - that would be a very bitter pill to swallow, plus - I am ready to exchange and complete on project number 2, further advance would take 4 weeks and cost 230, re morge would take weeks and cost ???
Any suggestions would be greatfully appreciated.
Many thanks, Betsy.
Much appreciated,
Betty Barter. ???0 -
You would probably have been better off posting this as a new thread.
I assume that you are using the rise in equity to fund the new project? If not you could simply go to a new mortgage lender for the new project.
Strange time to be getting into BTL investment but I guess that you have convinced yourself that the projects make financial sense, allowing for possible falls in house prices and higher interest rates.0 -
D-O i don't think i could be the site pedant (my spelling and grammar aren't perfect, i'm a jellyheaded space cadet lol!), i shall demote myself to humble student of pedantry. can i be number 2? chortle!
;D
Well, I suppose if you are number 2, that assumes that I'm more completely a jellyheaded space cadet. ::)
This is really a great thread, it's certainly moved along since I was last here. ;DI have five stars! This doesn't mean that I know anything about any of the things I post. I could be a raving lunatic, or a brilliant genius, or just some guy on the internet. In fact, I could be all three at the same time.
If anything I say makes sense, then do it. If not, don't. Don't blame me or my stars if you do something stupid because I suggested it. I'm responsible for my own stupidity only. You are responsible for yours.
Why, I don't even have five stars anymore! Aren't you glad you aren't responsible for my stupidity?0 -
Unfortunately for a lot, I also stand by my
"pap-in-manchester" beliefs.
Oh, dear, I think Danny has misunderstood. I wasn't saying his posts are pap, that's up to someone else to judge.
Danny, there is someone else who has posted on this site who became known as "Paps". He's in Aberdeen. He called me the site pedant. I was so PROUD to have a title, even if it isn't "Number Two" -- and I didn't have to give it to myself.
There seems to be some limited similarity between you and Paps-in-Aberdeen.
So maybe you should take Paps-in-Manchester as a term of tongue-in-cheek endearment. ;DI have five stars! This doesn't mean that I know anything about any of the things I post. It helps to remember, that because you are a regular moneysaver, does not mean you know all the answers.
This is undoubtedly true. However, I am an "Ever So Regular Moneysaver." ;D

I thought you were the one of only a few on here
(and very intelligent of you i might add) that can spot a valid point to what im saying.
Danny, are you saying that someone must be very intelligent to spot a valid point in your posts? ;DQuestion 1- do you really look like your picture?
Question 2- Did you always join the gang and leave the geek in the corner at school?
Question 3- Or were you the geek in the corner? ;D
I can help you with these questions, Danny.
1. Who cares what Pal looks like? A gopher is a good representation of his mental abilities as demonstrated on this site. Note the difference -- I shovel dirt, he eats it.
2&3. He joined the gang of geeks.

I agree, this thread has a life of its own that has little to do with mortgages.I have five stars! This doesn't mean that I know anything about any of the things I post.
