CARPET CLEANING-rental or company??

Hi,

We have two dogs and despite fitting new carpets 2 months ago they are in a pretty bad state!!

Whats the best option-to rent something like a rugdoctor machine or get a company in??

Anyone rented a machine from a diy place?

I have done both in the last year. When I rented a steam cleaner to do my carpets it cost 40 quid but the stuff that you added to the water was extra and it ended up costing nearer 70. When I got a bloke in to do my 3 piece suite he charged 90 quid all in. When you take into account the time involved and the fact that if it's not done right you have some comeback I would go with a company.

rented a rug doctor, was about £30-40 including the shampoo for a "3 bedroom house", made the place smell nicer and the water coming out was very very dark and dirty but i still don't really see how much actual cleaning it does by just squirting the shampoo onto the carpet and then hoovering it back up after a few seconds

I also have 2 dogs and a cream carpet. I bought a vax last year and now clean my carpets a couple of times a year. It's already paid for itself, plus you can clean spills if they happen.

I rent a rug doctor from band q for about £20 and then £10 for the shampoo and they are good.
    Nice to save.
