Tile paint and colour?

I am wanting to spruce up my kitchen and am planning on painting the tiles. I know some people say it will look rubbish but it is my only option at the moment as it will cost me a bomb to retile the kitchen as it is so awkward to do

Anyway my worktops are dark green with a cream fleck in them and the units are pearwood

Any suggestions as to what colour?

Was thinking of purple or cream :undecided
