Hi, I'm looking to get 2 new tyres soon, my specs are 195/65 R15 V. After looking around various online retailers I've narrowed it down to the following two choices, fully fitted.
Michelin Energy Saver £126.98
Continental Premium Contact 2 £118.74
Anyone with any advice as to which is better or if they can have any other recommendations?
Thanks

both are good makes and should last a good while, and fully fitted seems a decent price, dont know if you have a costco near you with a tyre fitting service they do michelins and sometimes can beat alot of retailers, I've used them several times, but of course you need to be a member and have one near you.
Hope this helps. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
The Michelins are the better of the two imho.0

The Michelins are like plastic tyres but they are alot better then "budget" tyres that sont stop in the rain0

I got a quote from Costco yesterday on the same size tyre, but the Michelin Premacy HP. Costco were more expensive than the online brokers and on the basis that those prices you've quoted are really competitive, I doubt they'll beat them.
For me it was between the Michelin Premacy HP and the Conti Premium Contact 2. Both are rated the same by Which and both get excellent reviews elsewhere. I went for the Conti purely because I'm only replacing 2 tyres and the others on the car are Conti Sport Contact 2 (which the Premium Contact 2 replaced).0 -
Continentals are the better overall tyre. The Michelins will last up to 30,000 miles. The man without a signature.0

I just changed from Conti's - didn't like them much - wear rates were terrible and tramlined in the wet.
If the Michelins will give 30,000 miles I suspect that grip levels won't be the best, after all, tyres are always a compromise - grip versus wear.
I have just had Goodyear Optigrip's fitted on the front. They were a bit more expensive than you have been quoted but I have been really impressed in the rain over the last two days. Absolutely no tramlining and inspire complete confidence in the wet.
Having spent years using budget tyres because I couldn't afford anything else I really appreciate the difference with premium brands. The budget brands are fine in the dry but there really is no comparison in the wet.0 -
I would suggest you fit whatever your other two tyres are. Unless you have a good reason to want to change?"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Why not fit something like Kumhos that will be half the price yet grip just as well and definitely don't last half as long?
No complaints with Ecsta KU31s here - and I've heard good things about them from people that drive far higher performance cars than mine!0 -
Big fan of Vredestein tyres here, always do well in the Auto Express tyre comparison tests, the Vredestein Sportrac3 came second overall and does well in the wet handling part of the test, something that I look for when choosing tyres with the amount of rain we have in these parts.

I have had both of those sets of tyres and are good. Also used the Conti's and they wear out so quick.
I currently use Falken. I find them just as good as the Michelins, but cheaper. They are also lasting longer.Never buy a stupid dwarf -
