Anyone got ideas or recommendations of house or furniture removal companies? Looking to move later on this year but see a vast range or prices for the services from self pack to full packing service.
Moving Monday through Wednesday seems to be the cheapest days but looking for any tips/advice/suggestions on how to save money for this costly exercise - without doing it all myself of course

We're moving on Friday (yippee) and we phoned around for a lot of quotes. We're going from a 2 bed flat into a 3 bed house 1/4 mile away with a number of items in storage that need moving as well. The well known local firms that we had in to quote gave us the following:
£650 + VAT from a grumpy bloke that we didn't want to pay any money to as he was so miserable
£700 + VAT from the nice man in the suit that came round who appeared a bit more professional.
We have gone with the man that our storage firm recommended to us who seems really decent, chirpy and friendly who has offered to do the whole job for £450 cash in hand, all insured. I'd recommend maybe calling a storage firm and asking who they would recommend as they would be a safe bet and they might be able to get you a cheeky deal!0 -
Hi
I went on https://www.helpiammoving.com and filled out an online quote. They then send the details to five or so different companies in your area and the various companies get back to you with quotes.
We move in a few weeks and its how I found our movers, they cost us £400 inc. VAT!!!
