WARNING: Gadget Batteries

www. gadgetbatteries .co.uk appears to be one of the cheapest places to buy batteries (for cameras, camcorders etc) on the internet. However, I have found Gadget Batteries to be rogue traders who took our money but did not deliver all we paid for and did not communicate with us.
Our experience:
We ordered 2 batteries on 25/02/10 from Gadget Batteries, two weeks before our holiday (when we needed them). Gadget Batteries immediately took the money and delivered the cheaper battery a few days later but, strangely, not the more expensive one.
In the days preceding our holiday we sent several emails and left many telephone messages (they don’t answer the phone) asking that they either deliver the battery immediately or let us have our money back. We had no response from Gadget Batteries via email or phone and were forced to go to another supplier for our battery who delivered immediately.
Five weeks have passed and Gadget Batteries have not delivered our battery, nor paid our money back. Their online web tracker says that the battery is “to follow” but the site says that the item is in stock. So why no delivery?
Conclusion:
Fortunately we paid on credit card and can claim it back. However, I feel I must warn other consumers who are attracted by Gadget Batteries’ apparent cheapness: It is not cheap when you spend £32 and only receive a £10 battery!
