It's easy to end up owing money on a PPM. Perhaps the meter had a debt loaded to it? Perhaps the PPM wasn't correctly calibrated or had some other fault.
Ask the debt collection agency to provide evidence that you ever owed E.On any money (e.g. a copy of the original bill).
Perhaps you didn't get the original bill because E.On didn't have your latest address, hence why they called in debt collectors."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Thank you for your reply srj told me they can not end me a copy of the bill or the date i acured this debt0

If they can't do this (or get EON to do this), then they can't chase the debt and you don't have to pay it!
I doubt they can prove the money is owed which is why they can't send the information. They sound as if they are trying it on!0 -

Hi jonocrooky
Premier is right; there are several ways a debt can build up on a Prepayment Meter.
Contact us as soon as possible and ask for a full explanation of why this money is outstanding.
I would also ask for a complaint to be raised. This will delay all debt follow up whilst the matter is investigated.
It is important you talk to us directly and not our debt collectors as they do not have the same access to your account as our agents do.
Hope this helps a little, jonocrooky. Give me a shout if you need more info as will be happy to help.
