USB stick

Do you buy brand ones? Cannot decide between kingston and scandisk at less than £10 for 4gb, that's must be a good buy!! Will only use it for copying the odd files. Thanks

Either Sandisk or Kingston will be fine. I would go for the fastest transfer rate given for your required capacity as the price difference will be neglible between the two :)

Yes you should buy a reputable branded one and I would also recommend one with encrptyed security in case the files you have are private.

This shouldn't be a deciding factor given there are many free software alternatives you can use once you've bought the USB stick.

Play are doing a kingston 4GB for £7.49 - don't use flash drives as your only backup, very easy to corrupt or lose. Generic one's from a legitimate source are fine too, and generally cheaper per GB, if write speeds are important to you, watch out for different speeds.

I don't always buy branded ones, but mostly. Also, I don't buy cheap big capacity branded ones from the far east, they're probably fake. Look for "Kingston 128GB" on eBay for example: people selling them are either from China, or from UK who sell them (most probably from the former) "because they don't quite work" (No, really? But they were really cheap bargains weren't there? Too good to be true heh?).
