Working with languages...

Hiya, I'm currently in my first year of studying Italian and Spanish at university and I've started to think about what I'd like to do in the future with my languages degree. I was wondering if there are any people here on the forum who work with languages or studied languages who can maybe tell me a bit about your job/how you got into it etc. I'd also love to find an internship/work experience in some sort of language orientated work field, possibly in-house translation, so any advice as to how to find contacts etc would be helpful!!
Thanks in advance!
