One kilo of potatoes( good choice) from the allotment shop = 75p (approximately 13 spuds)
Three old compost sacks - free
One bag of multi-purpose compost £3.95 - if I do not have the soil or home made compost to fill them.

Admittedly the allotment shop is selling 3kgs of Rooster for £6 in sacks (not splitting them).
