My sweet pea loo rolls are going mouldy!!!

I planted my sweet pea seeds as per instructions in compost in loo roll innards. They are germinating nicely, (most of them) but there is now some furry white mould on the outside of the cardboard. I have kept them watered, but not too much, and the ones at the window side are ok. The ones at the back, away from the window are the ones going mouldy. Most of the seedlings are about 4-5" and looking very strong.
Can I still plant them? Take the cardboard off and plant them? Chuck the lot so they don't kill off other plants?
We are due for a cold week, so I will wait before putting them out obviously.

(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

I plant broad beans & runner beans every year in loo rolls, and every year they get a white mould on the cardboard - I always plant them out with the rolls, mould included - never had a problem. Just ignore it.
  • Yep agreed it's harmless. Last year by the time they were ready to plant out I even managed to grow some pinky coloured mould on them. LOL
  • overwatering & too close together causes this
happened to me last year with my paper pots

Not a problem - you want them to break down in the soil once you put them in position in the soil - the mould is just starting the process. They'll hold together for a fair while yet.

Reading this it sounds like you are not turning your trays round, so both sides get "the window side" at least every other day

Helps keep the plants growing upwards & not leaning towards light as well

Thank you everyone. And Farway, after I had posted, I realised that I hadn't been turning them, even though I was doing it to my other seedlings! Duh!
I'm sure there are other seeds I should be starting off in paper pots or loo rolls. I just can't remember which ones apart from sweet pea. I'm still collecting my loo roll inners and kitchen roll as well, and now have nowt to put in them.
