Sorry, I was trying to point you all to a customer comment that has been left on the website:
So much for your customer service!
I switched to talktalk back in January and so far it has been the most stressful experience of my life.
Problem number one:
When I joined I was promised that because I was Tiscali customer, I would not need to pay the £30 connection fee.
However, when I received my first bill I was charged the connection fee. I rang up customer services and was assured
that the bills are auto-generated from the same temple and that the amount will be deducted from the second bill.
The second bill arrived, I called customer services again. And I was told again that it sometimes it is not refunded on the second bill, but the third bill. I mean how bizzare is that! Why charge the connection fee in the first place.
Anyway, I was assured (by a girl in an Indian call centre, clearing going off a script) that it would definitely be
refunded on the 3rd bill.
I have received my third bill this morning and there is no refund for the connection fee. I am not looking forward to calling talktalk customer services, because it will waste a whole hour of my family time in the evening, and I will get
the same re-assurances again and again.
Problem number two:
When I joined up I agreed to pay by direct debit and gave my bank details for the direct debit.
Last month, my find that she cannot call out from the phone and the broadband is not working. I call talktalk and they tell me that I have not paid the bill! It turns out that they had not activated the direct debit, and thought that I
had not paid the bill, so therefore restricted the calls and broadband on my phone. THEY MADE THE MISTAKE AND THEY ARE BLAMING ME FOR NOT PAYING!!! Obviously I was livid, and then had to pay by debit card for the restrictions to be removed. And then I was transferred to someone else to activate the direct debit.
Problem number three:
I was with Tiscali previously. When I joined talktalk in January, I phoned Tiscali to inform them to cancel my account.
They even confirmed the cancellation by letter. However, checking my bank account it turns out that they continued to charge me the full monthly amount in Febraury and March! Again, I rang talktlak and I was told that I had to ring another number to cancel the account and also had to write to an address for the refund.
As you can see my stress levels are getting worse, and I have still not been refunded my connection fee.
Also, whilst on the phone to the girl in the Indian call centre, I asked to speak to a manager. She told me there were no managers there for me to speak to (although I know that’s a lie, because I have worked for call centre companies, and there is always a manager there!). Anyway, she took my number and told me a manager would call me the next day.
Well, as you can guess, no manager called me the next day. She was just trying to get rid of me. I mean, just say a manager cannot call me. Why lie to me?
To highlight, talktalk’s customer service, I will be writing about my experience with talktalk on consumer websites like moneysavingexpert and the Guardian and Times consumer sections.

TALKTLAK!Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
Easiest way to sort out any problems is to put a post on their Members Forum. http://www.talktalkmembers.com/forums/
There are separate sections for Billing, Phone and Broadband. The online Talktalk staff give a much faster and effective response than phoning the call centre.0 -
We have had TalkTalk broadband and phone for about 4 years, never had a problem, great speeds, little throttling, great for downloads and online gaming.
Tiscali on the other hand.....!
Now they've bought them let's hope Tiscali can bring themselves to TT standards!0 -
Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.
