Live with grandparents not parents. Help

Just after some help for a friend. They have been living with their nan and grandad for the last 2 years, and have been supported by them for the last 2 years, but on the student finance there is no option for them, just her parent. though she is not estranged from them, they do not support her, how can we put this down as it can make a big difference to her level of support that she will receive.

You need to declare parents income, or apply for non-means tested only. No exceptions to this.0
