Gas leakage alarm for someone with no sense of smell?

Hi Guys,
Looking for a bit of help and advice. My Mum has no sense of smell but occasionally she will get a wiff of something, only if it is VERY strong. Anyway this morning she thought she could smell gas, I wasn't home and so she needed a "nose" to check it out properly for her. Obviously this could prove quite dangerous if no-one is around, or if Mum doesn't get any wiff of the smell of it at all. Can anyone recommend a gas alarm of some sort, something that will alert her by sight/sound if there is a gas leakage?
Thanks for your help,

Good afternoon: see here. Contact a Gas Safe Registered installer for a supply and fit.
