Hi Buffy - it would depend how much stuff you want. I would normally do some french bread or crackers with cheese or pate. some salad. home made coleslaw and potato salads. Crisps and dips that sort of thing. My kids love this kind of tea - not very cheap though!

    evening all

haven't got much time, got to walk and mark but really need advice re my Mum's birthday am doing dinner well tea really. sandwiches and stuff.

Any one got any suggestions as to what the "stuff" can be?

and is cake baking at the last minute a good idea?? just fairy cakes?

am shopping at Sainsburys and may be Marks and Spencers depending on what I have been paid.

    suggestions welcome xxxx

Well when I had family round for Nathans I did 1 type of sandwuch, 1 type of wrap (mango chicken), mini crackers with pastrami, sausage rolls, potato salad, crisps and dip, meringues and fruit and birthday cake.

Fairy cakes can be kept in an airtight container for a couple of days then iced when you want them. Or buy a pack of plain fairy cakes and ice them...

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
