scaredy - I used to work at the civic centre (the huge white building at the bottom of the hill) in the early/mid 90s and lived about 1/4 mile away from where you are staying. When I had no pennies, I used to walk home every lunchtime and do beans on toast or some chips in a chip pan and walk back again. The bit just before you get to the lights is the killer bit!!!!
Right, time for some dinner now I'm back. Some of the chocolate ended up in the cases - some in my mouth

haven't got much time, got to walk and mark but really need advice re my Mum's birthday am doing dinner well tea really. sandwiches and stuff.
Any one got any suggestions as to what the "stuff" can be?
and is cake baking at the last minute a good idea?? just fairy cakes?
am shopping at Sainsburys and may be Marks and Spencers depending on what I have been paid.

stuff: potato salad, coleslaw, crisps, rice salad?

Buffy why don't you do really nice sandwiches..cheap but easy (ham, egg, salmon, etc etc with the crusts cut off) mini quiches, brucheta, you can then do fairy cakes, profriterols,
