I found some cheap flights online at lastminute.com last week and proceeded to book the tickets - entering my personal details, filling in this and that and finally clicking the 'Buy Now' button, except, what happens?
BOOKING SYSTEM (flamin') ERROR. Great. So I had to call up their contact number or helpline (if you can even call it that) where they explained they had taken my money (the payment had gone through), but the booking hadn't which meant I didn't get the tickets.
So as a result of their website technical error, I was hundreds of pounds out of pocket and had to wait 5 days for the bank to give me back my money so I could re-book the tickets, except by the time I got my money back and tried to book those tickets, they went up by £100.
On top of that, when my phone bill came, I had been charged over £15 for calls to their 'helpline' to try and sort this technical error out. What kind of service is that? What kind of company charges customers or makes money out of customers who call in for help regarding their website technical difficulties? I can understand if they charged for telephone bookings, but in this case, I was calling up to sort out a problem THEY had made.
I find it very unfair, unreasonable, unthinkable and unethical of a company to do that and will warning my friends and family about lastminute.com.:mad::mad:

I can't understand why they couldn't have booked the tickets over the phone after confirming they had taken the money. It doesn't make sense.0

I have dealt with lastminute.com buying tickets for West End shows. The transactions went through smoothly.
However, if there is one thing I cannot stomach it is help lines that rip off customers.
I should definitely demand reimbursement of the £15. Of course it is not just the money it is the tiime and effort you have to put in to correct what is an obvious injustice. Life is too short for such nonsense.
Thanks for the warning. I will not be dealing with lastminute.com again.0
