I have just recieved a quote for some work for a 1960's bungalow in Swindon
The work consists of adding:
9 double sockets
changing to a new fusebox
re-wire the lighting circit (no earth on current circuit)
Bonding to the gas/water services
Cost £1750 including vat
Is this reasonable

Try posting this on the Screwfix.com Electricians talk forum. If they all reply saying they'll do it, then yes, it's a lot.0

have to agree, from my experience an AVERAGE cost would be in the region of £1200 for that work, however it goes with out saying to obtain 3 quotes by registered electricians/companys.
