MG ZR any ABS?
Options
just took out some insurance starting 10th april on mg zr. One question i was asked by telesales person was does the car have ABS.
Well withiut giving it much thought i just said yes. Thinking about it now though im not really sure.
How do i know if the car is fitted with ABS its an 03 plate. Also do you think that the insurance will change much if it has not. I will be ringing the insurance up if the car hasnt got ABS as i know they will not pay up if there is an incident.

I’d be surprised if something that new didn’t have it.
To check…..there should be an ABS light on the dash which will come on for 10 ish seconds when you turn the ignition on, otherwise carefully try a bit of hard braking, non ABS car will lock the front wheels. ABS car will give you a noisy pulsing at the brake pedal and the wheels won’t lock0 -
It's a good idea to find out if any car you intend to drive has ABS before you drive it, as it changes the way you need to brake in an emergency. So long as it has ABS you needn't worry - in an emergencykeep the pressure on the brake pedal and steer out of he way of trouble. This is most peoples panic response anyway, which is why ABS is 'a good thing'.
Almost all modern cars do have ABS as standard as it's viewed as such an important safety feature - as fundamental as seatbelts and air bags nowadays.0 -

i have a 'W' reg megane and that has ABS and does have the ABS light. The ZR does not have a ABS light on the dash board, only the usual oil etc but has SBS but i think that has something to do with the air bag.All the big powers they've silenced me.
