Incentive Offers to Switch Bank Account?

Posting on behalf of my Mrs who wishes to close her Halifax account due to some problems she's had today.

I'm wondering if there is any offers about like the £75 Nationwide one just gone to switch accounts.

Recommend-a-friend offers or cashback websites are an alternative to the "Nationwide-style" offer...

(Note: this is in no way a recommendation for a main account as my experience of A&L/Santander account administration indicates that it is likely to be even less reliable than Halifax).

Alternatively the A&L or First Direct referrals threads on the Referrers Board may be of interest perhaps (the latter seems to require salary transfer and min £1500 per month credits to the account)?

You could switch to First Direct by using their switching service. They will give you £100. All you have to do is pay in your income of at least £1,500 per month. If you don't have that much then by simply opening a saving account with them and put a few quids to start with will qualify you for their offer.
