    Just another TNS query. I have some friends I would like to refer to TNS, but is there only a certain number that would be allowed in my area, and if I referred too many would I be losing out on jobs myself?

    Doh! Sorry but I couldn't resist :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    hi welcome :wave: i do this part time and normally make £200+ usually do about 30+ jobs. tip is to sign up to lots of agencies as lots of jobs have limits on how often or how soon you can do them. for the first few months you can get away with a few agencies but then need to start joining more.

    not sure where you live but if you are in a big city you should be able to see pleantly although it depends on how many other people are in your area. i live in a small city and found i had to travel to nearby towns to get more work. somwtimes i take the odd day off my day job if i can get a nice circuit.

    you should sign up to the alerts thread (link on 1st post) and then you can get email notifications everytime someone posts, very handy if you get email on your phone. when people see jobs on websites they post on there so easier than checking all the sites if you are out and about :D

    good luck :beer:

    Are you subscribed to the alerts thread Laura? Many of us subscribe to it so that we get an email as soon as someone posts an alert, and we can log on to the relevent MSP's website and bag a job or ten.

    It helped me out a LOT in the early days, so I'd recommend using it.

    You are probably not doing anything wrong - you are getting some work!

    Most companies have a large pool of mystery shoppers and you are competing with everyone else for the same work.

    Generally, the better your reputation with any particular company, the more likely it is that you will get jobs assigned to you. It's a vicious circle to start with: you don't get the jobs becuase you haven't built your reputation yet and you can't build your reputation because you don't get the jobs!

    The solution is perseverence. Check sites regularly for jobs available, apply for them and do them if they get assigned to you. In the meantime, do more work for the companies that let you self-assign (eg Gap and RE). This will give you more experience (and therefore more confidence to sign up with other agencies and/or apply for jobs with other companies). Bear in mind that if you apply for a job and then refuse it when offered, or accept a job and don't complete it, this will have an adverse effect on your reputation.

    Good luck.
