    There are quite a few agencies out there now that are used to people not being about to pass a credit cheque and these either ask for a bigger deposit, a few months rent or a garantor but dont be afraid to approach an agency as the worst thing that can do is have a snooty attitude and say no but its there loss just walk away or as already said look through the local papers and find a private landlord as they will normally rent to you with just references and a deposit but be quick to call as they dont tend to hang around long.

    Good luck and dont worry as something will come up as i know as it happened to me a couple of years back and my agency just found me somewhere else even after i told them about my credit situation.
