Hi can anyone tell me what the rate of compensation is for loss of gas supply. I had heard there was a daily rate that you are entitled to when you have no supply.
Basically we moved into a property August 2009, we reported a gas smell to the council, they told us not to worry about it, so we reported it to transco. they found a major leak, said it was only time we would of blown up, they capped the gas off, it then took the council 2 weeks to find the leak and the gas be re-routed and put back on! Due to lots of issues with the house we couldnt stay in it for aprox 4 weeks due to the smell of gas, the carbon monoxide travelling into the house instead of out, bare live electricity cables, cut up lintles, damaged floors, floors up so dangerous for weeks ARGGGG. Anyways we are still decamped out of the house due to lots of issues / damage discovered so as this is gas / electricity forum I will stick to that LOL we are still living at a disgusting temporary house where we also had no gas, so again no hot water and no cooking for two weeks at this house ARGGGGGGGGGGGGG
IF ANYONE CAN HELP I WOULD BE MOST GRATEFUL :A

Where abouts was the gas leak? If it was after the gas meter then you definately won't be entitled to any compensation.0

There is no compensation from the gas companies/'Transco' for loss of supply when it's a gas leak through no fault of their own.
I'd be complaining to the council!!!

Gas appliances dont produce appreciable amounts of CO when operating normally.
CH4+2O2=CO2+2H2OFeudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
if national grid capped it off and you had to get the council to deal with leak using their gsrs then it is an internal leak any loss of supply compensation is not an issue for the National Grid or gas network as they are only responsible when it is an outside leak or a leak before the meter.
If the leak was at the meter it's self then you would contact the gas supplier - if after meter sorry speak to councilI am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0 -

And if the leak was at the meter, the supplier would merely replace the meterBecause if it's 'at' the meter, it wouldn't increase the units. If it's after the meter, it's the councils responsibility.
