    CONSOLIDATION USUALLY DOES NOT WORK

I keep seeing people saying they are desperate for a loan to 'consolidate their debts'.

    It doesn't work.

Clearing heavy debt takes hard work, savvy spending, tough decisions and time.

It cannot be solved by 'swapping all your existing debts for one simple, monthly payment'.

Very much agree. I've posted an analogy on here on no end of posts about consolidation loans that people who use them are trying to solve a problem with having too much credit by getting more credit, which is a bad idea for the same reasons that the fire brigade don't use petrol to put out fires.

In short, use your noggin instead of saying the bank gave me £5000 limit and I spent it and I can't afford it and it should be written off cos the bad bank shouldn't have given it to me.

    Accountability.

    Thanks my 2p worth

Sadly many on this forum would consider your comment to be heresy. A fair amount seem to think the individual has to take no responsibilty and everything is the nasty banks fault.

When did all this avoiding-paying-back-debts start??

Is it upbringing? I honestly didnt know so many people did this until I got on this site...!

Even my mate, who's on the dole, pays his stuff off and not once seeks ways to get out of it!!...and yet there are these weird folk on here who would advise him to look for the unenforcability options!!! Whats that all about???!! I just don't get it.

Stay away from those payday loan people. Yes you do have to pay the money back and if you don't yes you have to pay the interest ontop of the original loan.

If you need emergency money, either ask a friend or don't buy that extra chocolate bar or beer that you were going to.
What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..
