Puncture - Wish I'd known...

My wife ran over a drawing pin with our pushchair.

I had a cheap puncture repair kit but the patches had lost their sticky and the rubber cement wasn't doing the job on it's own when inflated.

So I went to Halfords and paid £3 for a set of patches. I still couldn't get it to seal I ended up using 3 or 4 as there ended up being a 2 holes in it...

Frustrated I thought I'd price up a new inner tube. £4 from eBay!!

Just put the numbers on the side of the tire to get the right size.

That'll keep you safe from the drawing pin menace for the foreseeable future.:)

  • Come on though.
You cant allow for people that cant even fix a puncture.
Even with a new kit it took 4 patches to fix 2 holes.
  • My point was it's virtually as cheap to buy a new innertube than to pay for Halfords repair kits.

Yeah the push chair has tires like a bike, it's a Phil and Ted, pretty funky bit of kit.

But the kit will repair more than one hole, well it should do but not with you at the controls lol :)

    One Tube = £4

One kit = £3 but repairs 10 holy tubes

Thanks Andy for your Troll-like sarcasm.

There were 6 patches so yeah 6 holes it can fix. Chances are like the others I had their glue will fade the next time my wife has a drawing pin encounter.

Seems I'm the only person in the world who can't repair a bike puncture first time!!

You do look cute in your pushchair though, not sure the side mirror option was a 'must have' optional extra.
