Hi
The kitchen drawer front has pulled away from the tray and I can't re-screw into the screw holes in the drawer front, should I get a good filler that can take being screwed into?

Sawdust & wood glue mixed together would do it.Not Again0

As a quick fix, you can just try shoving a matchstick in the hole(s). This has the effect of giving the screw something to bite on and the matchstick splits and expands as you screw the screw in.

Matchstick would be the first option. Maybe a spot of wood glue if you have any as well.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Matchstick and wood glue ...or Loctite repair express power putty (halfords sell . or can probably get in a diy store. I bought some on ebay a while back. I bought it primarily to repair a crack at the bottom of a drain gully but i've turned to using it for filling screw holes ...dries in minutes without shrinking, sandable (though is pretty hard so takes some elbow grease so don't overfill!) and paintable plus as it's not water-based there's no need to paint screwheads before filling over.0

My probably unhelpful solution if i was to find myself in this situation would be to just remove the screws and gripfill the front onto the drawer... cant beat a bit of gripfill0

The drawer front is mdf and the drawer front part is metal so would grip fill work for dissimilar materials?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I would second (or is that third) using a matchstick. Dip in PVA glue, push into hole. Use more than 1 matchstick if a big hole! For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0

If the drawer front is metal then most of the suggestions so far wont work, the loctite stuff should and gripfill should work (would work better if the metal isnt shiny and smooth)0

but get some gripfill for when the screw & matchstick come out again0
