looking for internal door 720mm wide

Need to replace bathroom door, and I have looked high and low (wickes, homebase, B&Q, jewsons, travis perkins) for an internal 6 panel moulded door with dimensions 1981X720X35 and cannot for the life of me find this. Most doors seem to be either 686 or 726 wide. I found one that was 726 wide but it was 2040 tall and 40 thick... does any one know where i can get the right door, or failing that, the best next option and how to get it to fit? Much thanks, as getting a little desperate.

  • All doors will need to be planned down to fit, if you go for a solid door reducing in size is not a problem

Agreed with above, going rate for a chippy to "hang" this for you would be £50-£60 per door

Thanks for replies colour republic and plasterer!

So, with renewed hope, I've found a solid clear pine door frm wicked (product code 207590) but the Q&A section says that a MAXIMUM of 12.5mm (to be removed equally from each side) can be trimmed off this width of this solid door. I need to remove a total of 42mm - is this too much?? Hmmmm....
  • Be careful, some wickes doors are of poor quality.

It should also be noted that some companies sell 'Solid Clear Pine Doors' when they are not; some of the cheaper ones are in fact knotty pine with a clear pine veneer.

If it says only 12.5mm can be taken off then I would think the stiles are not solid
  • If you go to a timber merchants they will have a far greater selection of doors and sizes, also of better quality for the money.

Looks like you need a 28" x 78 " door. Not such a common size, but they are available, even in B & Q etc
