Just after some advice, I am in the process of starting up my own business, selling retro furniture and objects on ebay,
have registered as business seller, set up separate bank account for all money to go through, and will keep accounts for this. And have notified hmrc to register as self employed.
Have I missed anything at the moment, it will only be a small venture, already work 2 jobs!, but hopefully it can develop into something bigger, any advice for what to do if and when the business grows?

Diversify your sales channels as much as possible and certainly have your own website as you will have 100% control of that. Ebay can and have blocked accounts for trivial reasons and communicating with them is painful.
At the moment it is just an extra revenue stream so that is ok but there is no way I would rely on Ebay for a significant amount of income knowing that at any time they could block your Ebay or Paypal account resulting in zero income for that month.0
