Credit Card left in Chip & Pin terminal

in Credit cards
Last week while shopping in Superdrug someone had left their card in the Chip & Pin Terminal and I don't know who. Luckily I was next in line so I told the cashier and she kept in a safe place while calling for some assistance.
It seems to be quite easy to do things like that to me! I bet that the fraudsters are licking their lips when the come across something like that!

Every time I've used one, the machine won't print out the receipts until after the card has been removed (and most seem to beep) so I'd imagine its not a very common occurrance - and when it does occur its just as much cashiers fault as customers (as they are meant to put a copy of the receipt through the till too?). Slightly worrying still though.0

I'm ashamed to say I left mine in a self checkout terminal in Sainsbury's once - soon after they started to be introduced. Found out at home and phoned to ask if they had it - fortunately yes. When I went to pick it up, it was one of about a dozen, left by dozy shoppers. It is easily done!

It very depends on the design of each retailers' tilling software.
Some retailers, like M&S, they wont start next transcation if anything left on the till card reader or pin terminal.....
anyway, just be careful all the time.Spend smart, and save more.0 -
I also am ashamed to say that I've done the same kind of thing. I was using an ATM to deposit a cheque. Anyway, with one thing and another (the kids nagging and so on) I left the card in the machine for the next happy customer and walked away. You can guess what happened next.... Once I realised it was too late and I lost £200! I suppose I was lucky realy because they could have cleared me out! Anyway I went then straight away to the bank concerned and canceled the card (which was a multi function card). That was many years ago and now I'm SO VERY CAREFUL when using any form of chip&pin or ATM's0
