SMP paid too early?

Hi all,

I start maternity leave as of today, but i notice that my March 28th (payment for work from 1 to 31st March) payslip includes £460 - exactly four weeks of maternity pay. Is SMP usually paid in advance? I hadn't expected to start receiving it until the end of April.

Thanks

    Karen,

Have already tried! The payroll manager seems to think this is correct, but was quite vague. I'm waiting for someone to get back to me, but in the meantime hoped someone on here might have an idea about what's the norm.
