Spark Electricity and Breakdown
Options
I currently live in a house with two other guys, we’re all students and all have Spark Electricity as our electricity supplier. We received our most recent bill (quarterly) and believe it’s incorrect. Firstly with our bill last quarter we paid £300, it shows in our bank statement, however spark have said it was only £150. Secondly no one in the 2 years living at the address has ever read our meter.
We have asked for a breakdown of the last 6 months payments and bills however a member of their customer services department have said she doesn’t think Spark will do this, if a customer requests information on their account is it not their responsibility to send this?
Thanks for any information, it’s really appreciated.

So is the bill based on estimated or actual consumption? If estimated, supply your own readings and get the bill reissued.
It's your responsibility to check estimated bills against actual meter readings and make sure they are corrected if necessary, otherwise you could have a big defecit building up.
As for the payments. do you not have your own records from your own bank statements and previous bills? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thanks for the reply
It’s all estimated, we've recently supplied Spark with our new meter reading in the hope they will re-calculate it.
We have proof of us paying Spark, however trying to get them to believe this is a different matter. I do understand it’s as simple as scanning or copying and image of a statement however nothing has changed, we've been issued with the same bill again.
