What makes you feel confident in a seller on eBay?
Obviously positive feedback is paramount, but I also tend to buy from sellers with Power Seller Rating and have consistently good feedback for dispatch time, communications, description of goods etc.
Refunds offered always make me feel confident too.
Any otheres?

Power sellers or Top rated sellers (as you don't see PS ratings anymore) as they are now normally put me off as in my experience the customer service is appalling and everytime I have had a problem with a big seller its been a nightmare to sort out.0

In defence of some PS/TRS, I'm one (though I'm not exactly a "big sller" as Cyberbob puts it) and I believe that I offer excellent customer service, I rarely have problems that need resolving but when I do it's sorted quickly and in a friendly way. I offer a 14 day money back guarantee with no quibbles including postage costs in line with the distance selling regulations. Orders received before 3.00pm are usually dispatched same day. All emails are answered within 24 hours though often much quicker. My customers are very important to me and I like them to come back again and again

I'd agree with that, its more or less how I do it and ensures that I have a large repeat customer base..0 -
Simple easy to read listings without reams and reams of conditions.
For small items I look for 1st class P+P on many items. Living in the sticks I am willing to pay a premium to save me driving 20 miles to buy something and I normally want it yesterday.
For example the wee one broke her arm last week and I wanted a sling for school so I ordered it from a seller offering 1st class prompt postage. The fact that it was a total waste of time and she has refused to wear it is my problem....:mad:0 -
Apart from a good seller history, I will purchase from sellers who put a bit of effort into their ads, clear descriptions of the item, with lots of photographs, and clear explanation of fair Ts & Cs.
Spell checked and proof read ads are a real bonus.
E.g The chap I bought my current car from on ebay, had an ad with over 96 good quality photographs, with a lengthy and detailed description of the vehicle.0
