MOT emissions and Biodiesel

My 1994 Peugeot 106 has failed it's MOT this morning on the emissions.
I don't want to spend a lot of time or money for it to pass,so does anybody think if i put Biodiesel in it,it would pass because of the zero/low emissions ?
The guy at the test centre didn't know, but thought it would be an interesting experiment.
I went to my local Biodiesel place (50 mile round trip) but they have sold out at the moment,so i was tempted to put a couple of litres of straight veg oil in it,just for it to pass.
Any thoughts?

I think you need to find out why the emmissions from your car failed the MOT rather than trying something new to you at this time. I have read a number of articles on running cars on veg oil & the majority say that you can't just bung veg oil in your tank, it needs to be heated first to burn properly. You may create other problems & still fail the MOT.
Every couple of months i put an injector cleaner in the tank & motor factor I buy it from always asks me 'is the MOT due anytime soon cos if it is, don't bother you'll probably fail on emmissions running that thru your system.'0 -
My old diesel used to fail emissions every time.So I went back to the garage
and they put in some "gunk" [about £5 I think], ran the engine for half an hour, then drove it round to the MOT where it then always passed.0 -
I didn't put veg oil in the car,but i changed the air filter, put a small bottle of Redex in the tank, changed the oil and filter then took it for a blast up the motorway,it flew through this time.
The MOT tester asked if i had put Biodiesel in though,as he wanted to know what would happen.

On a 306 forum I am a member of, quite a few of the diesels have failed emissions tests.
They always advice, 2nd gear, foot down at high revs for a few seconds till there is tons of black smoke coming up out the back. Clears out the system...0 -
Biodiesel is rumoured to run far cleaner than regular diesel.
BioDiesel is a natural and very aggressive cleaner, so If you are new to using Bio in your car, then it may be that the fuel has cleaned out all of the muck from your fuel system, which has now blocked the fuel filter and can sometimes escape through a worn or badly clogged filter and burn in your engine- hence the risk of the engine running rough or high emissions.
When using Bio, especially the higher blends, it is advisable to have your fuel filter replaced on a regular basis, and this is even more crucial within a few weeks of changing over to Bio, as it will clean out your fuel system, and all the muck and gunk ends up clogging the filter!.0
