That's 1,000 people each week...and some of them are little tiny babies [with no teeth] who have just looked at a toothbrush.
This doesn't include the 40,000 who die from 'not using a special wipe thing to wipe down every sinlge surface in the home every 15 minutes'.
Oh, that did make me laugh :rotfl:0 -
Thanks OP, I can see this is only your second post so a warm welcome to MSE.

I think if more people put their toilet seat lid down before they flush, there might be a few less bug's spraying around the bathroom and landing on their toothbrushes.:eek:Booo!!!0

Welcome to the forum brompton - and thanks for posting! :T
It would be a pretty useless site if nobody dared post for fear of others jumping on them; so ignore any pettiness and carry on regardless. Not everyone will always agree but if anyone was looking to get one of these, it would be a genuine money-saving piece of advice.
However, just to reassure people who may be on the fence - I'm seriously immune suppressed with chemo meds/steroids etc and I have never been advised against anything other than steering clear of folk with chickenpox etc. I very rarely use antibacterial agents in my home (unless I'm cleaning out kitty litter!) and I've never been ill as a result of germs.
However, it is all down to whatever makes you happy - so if anyone wants to buy one, grabbit and enjoy!Living with Lupus is like juggling with butterflies0 -

When I had chemo 15 years ago I used to have to soak my toothbrush in this revolting fluid which made it taste awful, not nice when you are feeling sick already so may have been useful to me!
The thread still made me laugh though!0 -
How many new toothbrushes can you buy for £20 ????0

This was the subject of a Mythbusters show....and iirc they busted it.
Bugs typically need moist, warm conditions and a food supply [and sometimes air].
Your t/b dries out pretty well so it's difficult for dangerous bugs to thrive
This is why your [dry] toilet seat has less bugs than your [moist] chopping board...and why your lovely damp, warm, food filled dish clothes and drying clothes are a cesspool of bugs.
Be afraid, be very afraid.....Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I'm just going to avoid my kitchen and bathroom from now on, just in case!0
