Post Graduate Loan/CDL

I have been accepted onto an MSc course starting in September 2010.

For Postgraduate study there is no student loan available as such but funding can be applied for through Barclays or Co-Op as a graduate loan. Under this scheme the learning and skills council pay the interest on these loans whilst you study.

I am concerned that these products are in essence an unsecured personal loan and I do not have the best credit rating despite trying my damndest to repair this!

Does anyone have any info on how likely it is I will be accepted for this?

Comments

  • The PCDL is effectively just an unsecured personal loan. Acceptance is based on credit history, though the banks have been told to be more lenient to people out of work.

For independent advice, you should call the PCDL info line: 0800 585 505.
